inksecticid vector graphics [buzz, buzz]

Inksecticid originated in 2001 in France. The idea came from a can of insecticide found by a friend. The brand name on the canister happened to be my nickname commonly used by my friends. This idea was an inspiration for a piece as a humorous spoof. Soon the inside joke between friends became a pun meant to represent my work—a fortunate accident.

Upon leaving France, I disassociated with my old persona and decided to create an entirely new one. The terminology Inksecticid was now becoming the basis of my new creative universe—drawing influences from the tattoo community, art toys, the skateboard world and graffiti art. My new universe was also rotating around the idea of insects and the clash between technology and nature.

Continuing the idea of "nature's" infestation—Inksecticid stickers have taken over the cities. By sticking them on park benches, street signs and using city buildings as a canvas, I am spreading my work around just like a pest invasion.

As for the bugs and aliens, one day I should erase them; they're buzzing too much in my head. He he.
